We fix steel furring channels across the timber rafters and fit expansion joints along long spans. Setting joints with paper tape and proper base compounds gives the joins enough give to handle normal roof movement without splitting.
Can you repair water-damaged ceilings without replacing the whole room?
Yes. Once the leak is fixed, we cut back to clean timber or steel, screw in new plasterboard, back-block the joins, and feather the compound out so you cannot tell where the patch was once it is painted.
