How do you repair water-damaged ceilings after storms?
We cut back past the damaged section to sound timber framing, check the battens are dry and level, then screw off new plasterboard. From there, we tape the joints, apply three coats of compound, and sand it smooth for paint.
Can you square-set ceilings in an older timber home?
Yes, but timber frames shift with Brisbane's wet and dry seasons. We install expansion beads, back-block the joins, and use proper base coats so the corners hold up without cracking.
