Plastering for Established Hillside Homes

Many two-storey and split-level homes in Mount Ommaney have raked ceilings or wide open spans. As timber frames settle over time, joints can crack if they were not backed up properly. On long ceiling spans over six metres, we use back-blocking and expansion joints where required to keep joins flat and stop them moving as the house shifts.

Residential plastering

For home renovations, extensions, or general repairs, we hang and stop plasterboard, finish square-set joins, put up cornice, and frame bulkheads. We take the time to set sheets properly so your walls and ceilings stay flat and ready for trade paint.

Ceiling installation & replacement

Mount Ommaney plastering FAQs

How do you repair sagging plasterboard in older two-storey homes?

If the plasterboard is still in good condition, we push it back tight, re-screw it to the battens, and apply fresh stud adhesive. If the core has softened or the paper has let go, we cut out the damaged section or replace the whole sheet.

Can you blend new plasterboard into an existing ceiling after a leak?

Yes. We cut back the damaged board to the nearest timber joist or batten, fit a new piece of plasterboard, and feather the joint compound out wide. Once it is base-coated, top-coated, and sanded, the patch blends right in.

How do I get a quote?

Use the form at the top of this page and attach a few photos. We will reply with next steps or arrange an inspection.

What affects the price?

Size of the area, access, ceiling height, board condition and finish. Photos and measurements help us price accurately.
