We find what caused the crack first. If the frame has settled, we scrape out the break, bed in paper tape with a base coat, and finish it off with two coats of topping. For loose or badly cracked sheets, we screw them off securely or cut out the section and back-block the new join.
Can you tie new plasterboard into old decorative cornices?
Yes. When replacing damaged walls or ceilings, we cut neatly right up to original timber picture rails and ornate plaster cornices. We fit the new plasterboard tight and stop it up clean without damaging the original details.
