Plasterboard Repairs in Forest Lake Homes

Many brick-and-tile homes here have wide open-plan living areas built on timber roof trusses. Seasonal changes cause these trusses to move slightly, which shows up as hairline cracks along joints or cornice edges. When we fix these ceilings, we use back-blocking, proper screw spacing, and flexible base coats to handle that natural movement so the cracks do not come straight back.

Commercial plastering

Ceiling installation & replacement

Storm leaks and failed glue can cause ceilings to sag or drop. We pull down damaged plasterboard safely, screw new sheets firmly to battens, and finish flush so the repair blends in with the rest of the ceiling. We also frame and sheet bulkheads to tuck away air conditioning ducts.

Forest Lake plastering FAQs

Why are cracks appearing along ceiling joints in my home?

Timber roof trusses expand and contract as humidity rises and falls in Brisbane. If joints are not back-blocked, that movement stresses the joins and causes cracks. We reset the sheets and apply flexible compounds to handle the movement.

Can sagging plasterboard ceilings be re-screwed instead of replaced?

If the plaster core is dry and the paper has not pulled away from the screws, we can usually push the sheet back up and screw it into battens with fresh glue. If the board has taken water or sagged too far, replacing the sheet is the only reliable fix.
