We cut out the ruined plasterboard, let the framing dry, and check the timber. Then we fit new sheets, tape the joints, and apply three coats of compound. Once sanded, the ceiling is flat and ready for primer and paint.
Can you blend new plasterboard into old timber walls?
Yes. In older homes, framing is rarely straight. We pack out battens where needed, hang the plasterboard, and feather the joint compound wide into the existing wall so the join does not show once painted.
