Yes. Old plaster walls are often thicker than modern board, so we feather the joints out wide. We use back-blocking behind joins and apply multiple thin coats to blend the transition and stop hairline cracks from appearing.
How do you repair water-damaged ceilings after heavy rain?
Once the leak is fixed and the timber dries out, we check if the sheets can be saved or need pulling down. We cut out damaged plasterboard back to the joists, fit new board, and set the joins flush with base coat and top coat.
