Plastering Advice for Southside Renovations

A lot of homes in Tarragindi are post-war timber builds where settled framing and out-of-plumb studs show up quickly once new plasterboard goes on. Before we sheet anything on a renovation, we check the timber, pack out uneven studs, and screw metal battens across older ceiling joists. Taking the time to straighten the base stops joints cracking down the track, stops screw pops, and gives you clean, straight lines where new work joins the old.

Commercial plastering

We build partition walls, drop ceilings, and bulkheads for local shops and offices. Where acoustic or fire-rated walls are specified, the ratings rely on the designed system, and we install sheets and insulation strictly to that specification so the assembly performs as planned.

Ceiling installation & replacement

Sagging plaster, storm damage, and old battens needing replacement are common Southside ceiling jobs. We pull down damaged sections safely, re-batten where joists have dipped, and hang fresh plasterboard. We also frame and sheet bulkheads to hide ducting and pipework in renovated kitchens and living areas.

Tarragindi plastering FAQs

Can you blend new plasterboard into our original fibrous plaster walls?

Yes. Old fibrous plaster is thicker and moves differently to modern board. We back-block the join, use high-strength base coats, and feather the compound wide across the seam so you cannot see the transition under natural light.

How do you repair a water-damaged plasterboard ceiling?

Once the roof or pipe leak is fixed, we cut away the soft, damaged plasterboard back to the nearest sound timber joists. We check the framing has dried out, screw in fresh plasterboard, and tape and set the joints with three coats ready for paint.

How do I get a quote?

Use the form at the top of this page and attach a few photos. We will reply with next steps or arrange an inspection.

What affects the price?

Size of the area, access, ceiling height, board condition and finish. Photos and measurements help us price accurately.
