How do you treat water-damaged ceilings after storm leaks?
Once the roof is fixed and dry, we cut away the soft plasterboard back to the centre of the joists. We inspect the battens, screw off fresh plasterboard, tape the joints with paper tape, and apply three coats of compound before sanding.
Can you fix cracked joints caused by shifting foundations?
Yes. Scraping over the top never works for long. We cut away loose compound, screw the sheets off firmly into solid timber or steel, bed paper tape across the join, and feather out two broad coats for a clean finish.
